Art to Live By
Art to Live By is an interactive art project that seeks to raise awareness of efforts to repeal the death penalty in Pennsylvania and engage artists and their communities in open discussion. The exhibit features artwork by activists, exonerees, and individuals still on death row. A panel will give a talk on death penalty abolition efforts in Pennsylvania. Attendees have the opportunity to create their own artwork and send postcards to state legislators asking them to vote to end the death penalty on upcoming House Bill 999. Thirty-four countries still use the death penalty for drug offenses and many individuals on death row suffer from severe mental health conditions and co-occurring substance abuse issues.
